fun & friends

We were blessed to have quite a few out of town friends here for the 4th of July. Our friends John and Tara Quick came over along with John's brother, Joe. The guys set up the girls pool while we waited for it to fill up Tara took some fun pics of us all. She took a few pics of me and I have to admit that I am usually the one behind the camera so it was nice to get a couple of snaphots of myself to post on here and for my Myspace page. After the girls woke up from a nap they got to play in the COLD pool and enjoy some yummy red, white and blue cupcakes.

carnival

We went to the carnival Thursday night and met Matt, Heather and Brooklyn there. It was so awesome to see them after almost a whole year of them being in CA! Evie still asks if we can go to Brooklyn's house whenever we drive by their old place. And I have missed my walking and online shopping buddy, Heather! The "little" girls enjoyed a few rides together and just hanging out.

Katie had a blast going on the "toss-your-cookies" rides with Jason. The girl is fearless!

Liam didn't get to go on any rides except for the one on Daddy's shoulders and to him that was pure fun!

It was just really nice to have the VanEcks here for a bit and we can't wait till the next time we see them!!!

parade

I was in the parade for the first time in 8 years this 4th of July. Once again for acting. The last time was to promo "Romeo and Juliet" and this time was to support the theater company that I am currently acting in and performed "Dora" with, the Springs Theater Co. I walked all the way and suffered only two large grape size blisters on both little toes. But it was worth it! The girls were super excited to see me walking and that was what made it special.

Jason and the kiddos sat with my dad and brother and the VanEck/Giancaspro family.

Liam was not all that into his first parade and ended up crying out of terror at the loud horns and whistles from the fire engines.

The girls had a blast as usual getting candy and watching all the "floats" go by.

4th of July

The 4th of July this year was a bit crazy for us! We enjoyed spending time with lots of out of town friends that came in for the holiday only. Our good friends John & Tara Quick were here from Denver and our good friends Matt & Heather VanEck and their daughter Brooklyn (we haven't seen the 3 of them for a year) came from sunny CA for a few days. We also had some family here, my mom & dad and my brother Jake was in town for the first time over the 4th in 2 or 3 years. We spent time at the carnival, sat at the parade (I was in the parade while everyone else looked on,) watched the fireworks, layed in the hammock, and ate too many red, white and blue cupcakes. And through it all we suffered migraines, blisters, heat, bugs, loud fire engine horns, stomach "stuff" and bad attitudes. We did however manage out of all this to take a great family picture, minus one child having her eyes closed! (See previous blog of "Family Pictures" to realize importance of this feat.) God Bless America!
